Rahul Mishra’s latest address has opened its doors as a “living museum of couture and craft,” the brand announced in a press release on August 21. Located in the art-centred shopping district Kala Ghoda, the store is the brand’s largest and “most ambitious” to date.

“When we were approached to design Rahul Mishra’s flagship boutique, we knew from the outset that the space had to transcend conventional retail design,” said Shroff about the collaboration. “The store couldn’t simply be a backdrop for garments- it needed to become a physical extension of Rahul’s universe, one that immerses visitors in the rich tapestry of embroidery, storytelling, and craftsmanship that defines his work.”

The boutique is conceptualised as a mixture of art, heritage craftsmanship, and style. Upon first entering, Mishra’s own sketches, muslin swatches, and botanical embroideries are presented to highlight the designer’s inspirations and artisanal focus. The botanical, entomological, and avian themes in Mishra’s designs are each given dedicated rooms and motifs from past collections are translated into interior features ranging from bespoke lamps to handwoven carpets, creating an immersive shopping experience.

“Collaborating with Rooshad on our flagship store in Mumbai has been an incredibly inspiring journey,” said eponymous designer Rahul Mishra.

“It was deeply moving to witness how he looked back at our work, picked up subtle, often overlooked elements from past collections, and reimagined them into the language of architecture and interiors. The store doesn’t just showcase garments- it extends the emotion, the thought, and the craft that shaped them.”

Rahul Mishra was the first Indian designer to be invited to showcase at the Paris Haute Couture Week and won the International Woolmark Prize in 2014. In 2023, Mishra was conferred the insignia of ‘Chevalier de Ordre des Arts et des Lettres’ by the French government.
