Lenzing, Austria – Fiber innovator Lenzing is taking some shine off Tencel Lyocell with a new fiber that mimics key attributes of cotton.
Tencel Lyocell – HV100 will make its debut in denim this month at the Kingpins Amsterdam expo. Lenzing is in the early phases of trial in the home textile sector and plans to expand the fiber into home and woven applications in 2026.
The semi-dull fiber was developed in response to Lenzing customers who requested textured aesthetics similar to natural fibers. HV100 offers thick and thin attributes like cotton does and delivers less shine.

The fibers enable new possibilities in warp yarns – traditionally cotton-dominated – while maintaining the same processing efficiency. In home textiles texting, HV100 maintains the moisture control and biodegradability characteristics that are inherent to Tencel fibers.
“Tencel Lyocell – HV100 redefines what regenerated cellulosic fibers can achieve,” said Rohit Aggarwal, CEO of Lenzing Group. “It comes at a crucial time as the industry faces a widening gap between fiber demand and supply.”
The fiber is made using Lenzing’s closed-loop production, which results in at least 50% less water consumption and carbon emissions than generic lyocell, according to Krishna Manda, VP of corporate sustainability.
Additional details about HV100 are available in the Fiber Catalog on Lenzing Pro, the company’s new digital services platform.
